Partnership returns contain some unique compliance requirements and complexities that may not be entirely intuitive.

Partnership returns contain some unique compliance requirements and complexities that may not be entirely intuitive. If not done correctly, the process can be cumbersome, and key required information can easily be missed.

In conjunction with the publication of Preparing Your Partnership Returns, a new compliance guide from Wolters Kluwer focused on the preparation of partnership returns, this webinar will provide a practical demonstration of the preparation of T5013 Partnership information returns and slips using Wolters Kluwer software (Taxprep Forms, Cantax Form Master and iFirm Tax Forms). The webinar will be presented by Maureen Vance, a contributing author to Preparing Your Partnership Returns.

Note that while this webinar will demonstrate how to complete the forms and slips using tax software, much of the material covered will be equally relevant to preparers that manually prepare their T5013 returns and slips as well as to preparers using other software programs.

The following topics will be covered:

  • What forms are required and tips to find them quickly
  • Recommended order of preparation
  • Completing the T5013 Schedules
  • Completing the T5013 Financial Return
  • Entering partner data
  • Importing data
  • Using the workcharts to allocate amounts to partners
  • Printing and electronic filing the T5013 return and slips
  • Preparing and filing the Québec TP-600 Partnership return and RL-15 slips

Target Audience

This webinar will be of most interest to tax practitioners preparing partnership returns in public practice or within corporate groups, but will also be relevant to other firms servicing partnerships.
